I didn't know how much was involved in making my tweets from twitter appear on my LJ.

It's a lot, and I'm too frustrated to deal with it.

Fail.

It's pretty snazzy. You just have to sign in with your LJ, then tell it to ship the tweets at a certain time. You can add a subject line and a body text to the entry, too, or choose if you want points or paragraphs, or you can just leave it as is.

And it'll just post them whenever you said for them, too.

Had it changed? It was pretty quick when I signed up.

I tired that.

It doesn't work.

It says it can't access my whatever and the "if it doesn't work" post is ridiculous and complicated.

And I don't care enough to go through the 5 steps.

Can't access your twitter or your LJ? Your twitter has to be unlocked as far as I know; I'm not sure if your entries are or not.

As for LJ, I think you have to do the sign up thing by having LJ authorize your loudtwitter, so it'll just pop up on an LJ page like, "Let Loudtwitter do shit?"

If that doesn't help at all, copypasta the crap to me and I'll see if I can help quickly?

LOL. I figured it out. I had the right username for the wrong account somewhere.

TY though!

LOL. Do you have an irrational hatred for Twitter, or just rational one of my 150 character increments of attempted wit?

No, I love Twitter. I actually made a fairly large meta post recently advocating Twitter. I just don't understand the need to archive tweets on LJ.

My thought is that it saves me cross posting everywhere. Because there are only three people on my friends list on LJ who are following me on Twitter. If Twitter would feed to Facebook, I'd probably do that, as well.

My journal is pretty unspectacular, anyway. I mostly just post to [livejournal.com profile] stanfordwank and hardly anything goes here.

1. From my (fairly sizable) experience in reading and talking to people about x-posting Twitter to LJ over the past year, the general consensus is thus: Nobody reads them, but it's okay if you just want to do it to archive your tweets, as long as you put them behind a cut. When you post them without a cut, people start getting annoyed.

2. TweetDeck has Facebook cross-posting capabilities.

Cuts are integral. I mostly even put RL stuff behind a cut. Most of the people who've friended me did it for fannish reasons. I doubt anyone wants to hear me ramble about anything but mutants or wizards doing it.

Also, now that you mention it, I usually only read people's Twitter posts on LJ if I've not checked Twitter that day.

I'm going to have to get TweetDeck. It seems stupid to update Twitter and my Facebook status.

Yeah, Twitter and Facebook status are so similar. TweetDeck just released a new version maybe a month back, and added that along with some other bits and bobs. I don't x-post to Facebook, but I really love TweetDeck.
